Opening of Vienna, Austria office
Revetas Capital Advisors LLP (“Revetas”), a specialist real estate investment advisor focussed on restructuring opportunities in Central and Eastern Europe (“CEE”), announces the opening of an office in Vienna, Austria to help expand its relationships within the region.
With offices in Budapest, Bratislava and London, Revetas recently announced a strategic relationship with Patron Capital, a leading real estate asset management firm, which will enable it to invest up to Euro100m in distressed real estate opportunities within the CEE region.
The Vienna office will be led by Kiril Klaturov, an internationally-qualified lawyer who most recently has been working in the Banking Finance and Capital Markets Group of Schoenherr, the leading CEE law firm, and prior to that at the global law firm Freshfield Bruckhaus Deringer. As Revetas’ Senior Legal Counsel Mr Klaturov will provide advice across all the firm’s activities. He has a law degree from Georgetown University, USA and has been admitted to the Austrian Bar and the New York State Bar. Mr. Klaturov will be responsible for overseeing legal aspects of the business and its invetsment transactions as well as liaising with external legal advisors.
This announcement also coincides with the appointment of Ian Jones, who in February this year, became the group’s Chief Financial Officer, as a Partner and Investment Committee member with immediate effect.
Mr Jones is responsible for the firm’s financial management and investor reporting. Mr Jones will be working closely with external advisors in structuring and documenting the Fund and will be Revetas’ Compliance and Money Laundering Officer after registration with the FCA.
Prior to joining Revetas, Mr Jones was Head of Real Estate at Langham Hall UK LLP, an FCA regulated business providing outsourced services to real estate funds, principally European funds. He has held Finance Director roles at several real estate investment groups including Topland Group, Antler Property Group and GHP Group. Mr Jones is a Chartered Accountant who, earlier in his career, specialised in real estate audit and advisory with KPMG London. He has considerable experience of managing transactions, negotiating debt financing, offshore structuring, tax planning and financial reporting.
Eric Assimakopoulos, Managing Partner of Revetas, commented “This is all welcome news for Revetas. Mr Klaturov brings excellent knowledge of financial and real estate transactions across the CEE region and we are delighted that he is joining us. Mr Jones has already made an invaluable contribution to the business, since coming on board earlier this year. With his significant experience and background, Revetas is very well placed to enter the next phase of its journey.”
